Safely handling asbestos I

FOR WORKERS (TO OBTAIN AN ATTESTATION IN ORDER TO ACCESS AN ASBESTOS REMOVAL WORKSITE) OR FOR ANYONE WHO HAS TO WORK WITH ASBESTOS

This half-day training is required by the Safety Code for the construction industry (s. 3.23.7) and covers:

  • The employer’s general obligations
  • The effects of asbestos on health
  • The standards applicable and the sampling required
  • Workers’ rights and obligations
  • Protective devices and equipment, based on the risk level
  • The equipment and tools to be used, based on the tasks
  • Safe working methods and procedures
  • Prevention and verification methods

Safely handling asbestos II

FOR ANYONE INVOLVED IN HANDLING, SUPERVISING OR CARRYING OUT WORK WITH MATERIAL CONTAINING ASBESTOS

This 8‑hour training is an advanced version of the training required by the Safety Code for the construction industry (s. 3.23.7) and covers the following concepts:

  • Asbestos: description, effects on health, regulations, exposure standards
  • The employer’s and workers’ obligations
  • Safe handling: sampling, ZPSOs (areas with similar materials), characterization, register
  • Asbestos removal work protocols: preventive measures, respiratory protection, risk levels, tests during and after work

In this 3‑hour training, participants will learn:
