The mandate granted to Nvira Environnement inc. related to the realization of a geotechnical study within the framework of the construction of a building including residential dwellings. The objectives of the study were to define the nature and thickness of the materials in place, and the groundwater conditions. This information is used to formulate recommendations relating to the excavations to be carried out, the type of foundation to be used, the bearing capacity of the soils, as well as a summary assessment of the potential for liquefaction of the soils. ​

During the work, odors of hydrocarbon contamination were detected. The customer was notified on site and we performed environmental sampling to analyze the contaminated soil, all following the customer’s approval. As part of the project, 2 geotechnical boreholes were carried out.​

As part of the project, five (5) exploratory trenches and two (2) geotechnical drilling were carried to carry out a geotechnical study. The objective of the study was to define the nature and thickness of the materials in place as well as the grounwater conditions before the construction of a veterinary hospital. ​

This information is used to formulate recommendations relating to the excavations to be carried out, the type of foundation to be used, the bearing capacity of the soils, a summary assessment of the liquefaction potential of the soils, our recommendations relating to the structure of the roadway for traffic, and parking areas on site.

This project was a geotechnical study for an industrial development project. We carried out ten (10) geotechnical drillings to determine the characteristics of the soils and to issue recommendations for the construction of the foundation of a building.

This mandate was carried out as part of the repair of 10 streets in the City of Victoriaville. Twenty-seven drillings were carried out as part of this mandate. Soil samples for environmental analysis purposes were taken from geotechnical drilling. Observation tubes were installed in eleven boreholes to measure the groundwater level at the site.​

The project consisted of renovating a section of rue Principale in St-Apollinaire, located between route de l’Église and rue Côté. Nvira’s geotechnical team carried out a study to determine the nature and property of soil and rock in the project area, and also established groundwater conditions. The data collected and analyzed made it possible to formulate geotechnical recommendations necessary for the repair of the street and services. The project was carried out according to a pre-established lump sum and no amendment was requested.​

The project consisted of carrying out 62 boreholes spread over 21 sites at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in order to determine the bearing capacity of the soil. The client wanted to set up stands and scaffolds for the President’s Cup tournament (PGA tournament). The work was carried out in two parts, one in August 2023 and the other in November 2023. The main challenge was to avoid damaging the golf course and to properly coordinate the drilling. In order to compensate for the passage of the drill, plywood was used. Additionally, different soil types were present on the site, which required different geotechnical knowledge and the collaboration of several experts.
